Frederik Cornelis

Even before he was born, Frederik was totally into music, more specifically playing the drums. He almost banged his mother’s uterus to pieces. At the age of 4, he gets his first drumkit. Santa was a hero back in the days !

He played in many bands, and got familiar with many different musical styles. His first love was melodical rockmusic (Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Asia,…), but as he grows up, his horizon of interests expands rapidly: dance, blues, soul, r&b, Dutch pop, electro-pop, singer-songwriter,… Some names that come to mind, are: Peter Gabriel, Daniel Lanois, Eric Clapton, Robbie Robertson, Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, Black Eyed Peas, Freemasons, Borsato,…

Frederik studied industrial engineering, but decided to go for a more artistic life. He also took the audio engineering course at SAE Amsterdam.

As a writer and composer, Frederik is fascinated by modern urban and r&b. But he also writes soul-dance (e.g. Freemasons), teen-punk (e.g. Avril Lavigne), Dutch pop tunes (e.g. Clouseau), symphonic pop (e.g. Marco Borsato). He writes beyond any borders.

He worked with talented artists such as Marjolein Cneut, Jana De Valck, Christopher Maxx (ex-Chic), Elias Smekens (co-writer these days).

Frederik is currently working at number 1 hit station Radio Donna, and he will be a sound-designer for its successor MNM, starting January 2009.
