Guy Balbaert

Third in the family line of theater people, Guy Balbaert found out early that his love was mainly focussed on music and, like his father and grandfather before him, on the beauty of fine lyrics.
He released his own self penned album 'Matters of the Heart' via the artist name Read which surprisingly earned him, next to some radio hits of his own, a solid reputation as a lyricist/melody writer for others.
He collaborated and wrote with a wide variety of artists through the years: Kevin Armstrong, Wim Soutaer (Pop Idol), Jeff Bodart, Udo (Pop Idol), Pierre Bachelet, Sam Wilcox, Marc Lavoine, Quynh Anh,… to name but a few.
Together with Vincent Pierins (the bass player of Clouseau and a songwriter in his own right) Guy has recently ventured on another quest with his new band MOXXIE. A quirky outfit that tries to redefine dance music with left of center melodies, beats and lyrics. MOXXIE has already remixed some of Belgium's more alternative bands (Zornik, Headphone,…) and is slowly building a solid reputation in the dance market scene (www.myspace.com/moxxiemusic).

He is an avid book reader, world traveler and a yoga aficionado…
