Martijn Bal

From the beginning of his life, it was obvious that he would make it on stage, either as an actor or a musician.When he was 10 years old, he sold postcards from door to door to buy his first drums.

Later on he played with a lot of bands such as Roland, Dirk Blanchart, Mike Anthony, Route 66, Delmondos, Artkicks, The Sunriders,...

The big succes came with The Dinky Toys, one of the most popular bands in Belgium in the 90’s with big hits as ‘My day will come’ ; ‘The test of time’ ; Declaration de amor’ ; ‘Can’t keep my hands of you’ ... just to name a few. Their clothes were designed by Walter Van Beirendonck.The Dinky Toys were the first band wearing his clothes before U2 did.

After being the producer of the popular musical program on tv ‘Tien om te zien’, Martijn is now working as the head of digital content within the VMMA group which is running VTM, the biggest commercial tv-station in Belgium.

In 2007 he signed with Bromo Music Publishing and from then on he wrote the lyrics for a lot of hits performed by Pim, Herbert Verhaeghe, Sergio,... etc.
